Community service trips allow us to immerse ourselves into communities other than our own for a short period of time (usually for a weekend, fall, winter, spring, or summer break) in order to complete community service projects and participate in experiential learning. Service trips afford us the opportunity to learn about social problems faced in other communities and to get involved in diverse environments enabling us to experience, discuss, and understand social issues in a significant way (Break Away 2008).

Although we cannot deduct the value of our time spent volunteering, we can deduct travel expenses incurred while performing volunteer services "away from home" overnight, as long as no significant part of the trip is spent for personal pleasure, vacation, or recreation.

Trips will be updated frequently or join http://philanthrovoluntourist.info
